About us

Troop 53 was first chartered in 1950 by the Longwood Rotary Club. After many years and a few chartership changes, including a long stint with the Kennett Italian American Club, the Troop is currently under the chartership of the Kennett Square VFW Post 5467. 

With over 75 years of serving the greater Kennett and New Garden areas, the troop has a wealth of knowledge and experience in preparing young men to enter the world as good, responsible citizens. 

Guided by the Scout Oath and Scout Law and led by the boys, Troop 53 aims to provide the best possible experiences in adventures, learning, and leadership.
