Troop 53 maintains a very active schedule including everything from community service, monthly camping trips, weekly meetings, our annual tree sale fundraiser and a week at summer camp.
Troop 53 has regular unit meetings every Wednesday (unless otherwise noted) starting at 7pm. These meetings typically last until 8-8:15pm.
During these meetings, scouts typically cover a variety of scout skills and participate in activities planned by the youth leadership. Occasionally, the troop will host event or holiday nights during meetings such as our annual Halloween party and White Elephant gift exchange.
The scout leadership meets once per month, usually on the first Wednesday of each month, as a Patrol Leader's Council (PLC) in which the planning for upcoming meetings, events, and activities takes place. Scouts First Class and above or those that hold leadership positions within the troop are encouraged to attend these PLC meetings.
All meetings are held at the New Garden township building in the basement. We refer to this location as "ScoutBase".
This can be found by going around back to the first of the lower lots. Typically you'll see our red camping trip trailer present and/or township owned vehicles in the lot.
